S&P500/USD perpetual futures began trading on LeverUp on October 19, 2026. The listing brings the benchmark US equity index onto the same platform as LeverUp's crypto perpetuals.
The Index, in Perp Form
The S&P 500 tracks 500 of the largest listed companies in the United States and is the most widely followed equity benchmark in the world. As a perpetual future, S&P500/USD gives traders continuous, two-sided exposure to the index — long or short — without an expiry date and without holding the underlying shares.
That matters because index exposure usually lives in a separate brokerage account, on market hours set by an exchange. A perp version trades inside the same account and interface as crypto perpetuals, so a trader can hold a view on US equities alongside positions in BTC, ETH, or MON.
Part of the Cross-Exchange Expansion
S&P500/USD arrives one week after LeverUp opened early access to Cross-Exchange, the trading experience that extends the platform beyond crypto into stocks, indices, commodities, FX, and pre-IPO markets. CL/USD perpetuals joined the lineup during the same week.
Cross-Exchange uses a dedicated trading balance: deposit funds to trade, withdraw when needed. Trading hours and limits for each market follow the corresponding venue, and the full contract specifications for S&P500/USD are shown in the trading interface before you place an order.
What Changes for Traders
- One account, more asset classes: US index exposure now sits next to crypto perps instead of in a separate brokerage account.
- Two-sided by default: Perps make shorting as straightforward as going long, which index ETFs and cash accounts do not.
- No expiry management: The position stays open without rolling contracts at expiration.
S&P500/USD is live now in the LeverUp app.
