LVMON staking is live. Users who hold eligible LVMON can stake it for variable rewards generated through Monad yield-bearing infrastructure, while LVMON can also be used as a supported collateral type on LeverUp.

That's the short version. Here's exactly how it works and how to use it.

What Problem LVMON Solves

Holding MON on Monad is a straightforward bet on the network. But idle MON is just that: idle. Every day it sits unstaked, you're missing the yield that Monad's liquid staking ecosystem is generating.

The catch: to participate in LeverUp's perpetuals market, you previously needed USDC. MON holders either sold into a stablecoin (giving up spot exposure) or kept MON separate from their trading activity.

LVMON expands how MON-related exposure can be used on LeverUp. Eligible LVMON can be staked for variable rewards, or used as a supported collateral type for perpetuals positions, subject to current protocol parameters.

How LVMON Works

In the LVMON interface, users access LVMON through positions opened with MON as collateral and settled in LVMON. Once a user holds eligible LVMON, it can be staked through the LVMON staking interface.

Staking rewards are generated through the protocol's deployment into Monad yield-bearing infrastructure and distributed to eligible staked LVMON.

Only LVMON participating in staking is eligible for staking reward distribution. As a result, effective yield can vary with participation levels, underlying rewards, vault activity, and applicable protocol settings. Yield is variable and is not guaranteed.

Staking: Step by Step

Step 1: Access the LVMON interface
Go to app.leverup.xyz and navigate to the LVMON page.

Step 2: Obtain LVMON
Under Mint & Redeem, the interface provides access to the flow for opening a position with MON as collateral and settling in LVMON. Follow the current interface to complete the relevant transaction flow.

Step 3: Stake eligible LVMON
Once you hold eligible LVMON, open LVMON Stake, enter the amount you want to stake, and confirm the required transactions.

Your staking position and available reward actions are shown in the LVMON interface. Reward availability and actions may vary according to current product settings.

Redemption: Getting MON Back

Eligible LVMON can be redeemed back into MON through the Mint & Redeem area of the LVMON interface.

Available redemption options, processing time, limits, and any applicable fees are displayed in the interface at the time of redemption. Review the current terms shown in the app before confirming a redemption transaction.

LVMON as Trading Collateral

Staking yield isn't the only thing LVMON enables. As a supported collateral type on LeverUp, LVMON can be used directly as margin for perpetuals positions.

This means LVMON can keep MON exposure productive while also serving as supported margin for perpetuals positions, subject to LeverUp's collateral and risk parameters.

This is the design principle behind AnyCollateral applied to LeverUp's own synthetic token: capital stays productive across all of its uses at once.

$LV and the LVMON Connection

The LVMON staking mechanism is designed to route applicable staking commission toward purchases of $LV on the open market, with purchased tokens burned. This creates a defined connection between LVMON staking activity and the $LV buyback mechanism.

For a full breakdown of how the $LV buyback and staking mechanisms work, see What is LeverUp?

Why This Matters for Monad

LeverUp's LVMON vault is a structured yield product built natively for Monad users. For the ecosystem, it means:

  • MON-related exposure gains additional utility through the LVMON staking and collateral workflows
  • Monad yield-bearing infrastructure can serve as a source of variable rewards for eligible staked LVMON
  • LeverUp users can choose between staking eligible LVMON or using LVMON as supported trading collateral

As Monad's DeFi layer expands, LVMON is designed to connect MON-related exposure with staking and trading utility inside LeverUp, subject to current product and risk parameters.
